The 7,000-hectare catchment area is surrounded by ‘Vettilachola’, which is a dense, evergreen forest. This masonry earth dam provides irrigation support to over 24,000 acres of land in Palakkad.
A beautiful garden has been constructed around the dam that offers incredible views of the locale. There are several recreational facilities as a part of this garden and is a great spot for family picnics.
